Welcoming More New School Leaders to Pickerington Local Schools

Welcoming More New School Leaders to Pickerington Local Schools

Earlier this summer, we introduced several new administrators joining PLSD for the 2025–26 school year. Today, we're excited to share a few more additions to our school's leadership teams! These individuals bring valuable experience, fresh perspectives, and a deep commitment to our students, staff, and families.

Lindsey Hanes, Assistant Principal | Toll Gate Elementary

Welcome Lindsey Hanes as the new Assistant Principal of Toll Gate Elementary! Lindsey brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to inclusive education, having served as Principal of Forest Rose School through the Fairfield County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Her leadership journey also includes administrative roles with the Fairfield County Educational Service Center and service as the 504/Help Me Grow Coordinator for Pickerington Local Schools in 2022–2023.

From 2018–2023, Lindsey supervised consortium classrooms supporting students with multiple disabilities and emotional disturbances across Fairfield County. She began her career as an Intervention Specialist at Berne Union Local Schools, where she served for eight years.

Lindsey holds a PK–12 Principal License and a K–12 Intervention Specialist License. She earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio University and her Master’s degree from Concordia University.

I look forward to building strong, meaningful relationships with the talented staff, awesome students, and dedicated parents at Toll Gate Elementary. Go Gators!”

John Downing, Assistant Principal | Pickerington High School North

Welcome John Downing to Pickerington High School North as Assistant Principal! This marks John’s first year in Pickerington, but his 13th year in education. He brings a strong foundation in instructional leadership and student support, having taught Social Studies for 10 years and served as Assistant Principal for two years at Reynoldsburg Summit High School.

John is eager to build relationships across the district and collaborate with students, staff, and families to support Panther pride and success.

“I am looking forward to learning from a new team and new district and building relationships across the board.”

Mike Yinger, Assistant Principal | Pickerington High School Central

Welcome Mike Yinger to Pickerington High School Central as Assistant Principal! With over 25 years in education, Mike brings a rich and varied background as a teacher, coach, dean of students, assistant principal, and athletic director. His most recent role was as Assistant Principal with Marion City Schools.

Mike is a dedicated family man—he and his wife Maegan have been married for 19 years and are proud parents to Major (14) and Blaise (11). When he’s not supporting students and staff, Mike enjoys fishing and spending time with his family.

He’s excited to join the Pickerington community and contribute to the district’s strong traditions and student-centered mission.

“I’m looking forward to being a part of the rich traditions of Pickerington Local Schools.”
