Upcoming Road Construction Impacting School Traffic – SR 204 & Milnor Road

Have you seen the new traffic information signs going up around the district? They’re about the Milnor Road and State Route 204 construction project that will soon impact traffic near our schools.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 5:

Closure Start & Timeline

  • The intersection of SR 204 and Milnor Road will close beginning Monday, September 8, 2025.
  • The contractor has a 50-day closure window and must reopen the intersection by October 29, 2025.
  • While the formal completion date is November 1, 2025, penalties will apply if the intersection is not reopened by October 29.

Detours & Traffic Plan

  • A formal detour will be posted: SR 204 north on SR 256 east on I-70 south on SR 310 back to SR 204.
  • A local route using Harmon, Refugee, and Pickerington Roads is expected to see increased traffic, although it will not be officially signed as a detour.
  • Neighborhood roads (Nantuckett, New England, and Chevington) will not serve as detours and will remain accessible only to residents, school buses, mail, and waste services.

We know this project will create delays and impact travel to and from our schools, and bus transportation. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for drop-off, pick-up, and bus schedules.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work through this project together with our ODOT partners. We’ll continue to share updates as they become available.
