Supporting Safe and Successful Schools: Pat Workman Steps Into District Leadership Role

Virgil “Pat” Workman Named District-Wide Assistant Supervisor of Maintenance

Pickerington Local Schools is pleased to announce that Virgil “Pat” Workman has been promoted to District-Wide Assistant Supervisor of Maintenance.

Workman brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to this role, along with a strong background in building operations and facility management. His experience as a property manager has helped shape his practical, hands-on approach to maintaining school facilities and supporting daily operations.

In his new role, Workman will help oversee maintenance operations across the district, supporting efforts to ensure school buildings remain safe, clean, and well-maintained for students and staff.

“My work supports students and staff by maintaining safe and clean buildings,” Workman shared. “A safe and well-maintained building means teachers and students can focus on learning without distractions.”

Known for his approachable style and commitment to service, Workman emphasizes the importance of communication and responsiveness in his work.

“I like to keep an open line of communication with everyone so they know they can come to me with any concerns—and that those concerns will be taken seriously,” he said.

Outside of work, Workman has been married for 28 years and is a proud father of four. He is also actively involved in his church community, where he leads and participates in several groups.

As he steps into this new role, Workman looks forward to continuing to support the district’s mission by helping create safe, welcoming environments where students can learn and thrive.
