Pickerington Local Schools Earn GFOA Recognition for Financial Reporting
Pickerington Local Schools has received the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR Award) from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its Popular Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025.
The award recognizes governments that make financial information clear, accessible and engaging for their communities. Reports are evaluated based on factors such as reader appeal, understandability, distribution methods and creativity.
The recognition comes just one week after PLSD received the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the same fiscal year.
“Transforming complex financial information into clear, accessible and transparent information for our community is a top priority,” said Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer John Walsh. “This award reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire finance team and their commitment to making financial information easier for our community to understand.”
“This award represents the third time the Treasurer’s Office has received recognition for its financial practices for the 2025-2026 School Year,” said Pickerington Board of Education President Cathy Olshefski. “The Board remains proud of the fact that Mr. Walsh and his team continue to provide accurate and transparent financial information to our stakeholders. While certainly not easy, this process reinforces the commitment of the Board and the District share in being good stewards of our public funds.”
