Engaging Our Community in Celebrating Our Students
Mission/Vision
- As leaders of Pickerington Schools, we hold the responsibility of ensuring that every student and staff member feels safe, valued, and has a strong sense of belonging within our community. Our district is dedicated to advancing proactive equity and inclusion initiatives that enhance school culture, foster student achievement, and support the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce.
- As a district, we are dedicated to creating equitable and culturally responsive learning environments that enhance students' social, emotional, and academic learning opportunities. We will continue to foster a genuine sense of belonging and promote inclusive cultural awareness through meaningful engagement with our students, staff, and community members in the following ways:
-
- Develop partnerships with stakeholders within the community to support and enhance our commitment to Equity and Inclusion.
- Continue to offer ongoing professional development focused on cultural competency practices and diversity, equity, and inclusion training for our staff. This ensures they are well-equipped to proactively address and respond appropriately to any instances of non-inclusive language in our buildings.
- We will provide resources aimed at re-engaging diverse populations in the education of their children. Our goal is to enhance the educational experiences and extracurricular opportunities available to all students.
